The Italian Players Association (AIC) announced that the players will not go on the field until Serie A will resolve the issue at hand. The contract regarding players rights will include a new clause, which will give the clubs the permission to force the players that have only one year remaing of their contract to accept moves to clubs of equal standing.
AIC released the following press statement:
"The Serie A players have taken into consideration the approach shown by the Lega, who have turned down the proposal of FIGC president Giancarlo Abete, which is also shared by the AIC, to limit to just six points the negotiations of the Collective Agreement, with the exclusion of two other points (forced player move and players out of the squad).
Through their representatives, they have therefore announced the decision to not go out on the pitch in one of the next round of games as a sign of protest. The AIC will wait until November 30 to announce the date of strike action."
