Will Wayne Rooney leave Manchester United in the upcoming transfer window ?

Sir Alex Ferguson stated that he's aware that Rooney no longer desires to remain.
If Rooney leaves Man. Utd, the most likely destination for the english striker will be Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid. Mourinho expressed his interest in transferring Wayne Rooney since the time he coached Chelsea. However, Mourinho doesn't think that this transfer is possible. He said that Rooney has no reason to leave United and that he should stay there for life.
It is said that the player rejected several contract extension offers.
